Pioneer Specialty Insurance Company is the wholly owned, niche-focused subsidiary of the Western National Insurance Group, a super-regional insurance group represented by the independent agency system.  Known previously as Pioneer Insurance, the company was refocused and renamed in 2008 following the merger of its parent company, the Farmers Home Group, with Western National.  Pioneer Specialty is licensed to operate in nine states in the Midwest and Northwest, with licenses in additional states pending.

Along with the other pooled companies of the Western National Insurance Group, Pioneer Specialty maintains a financial rating of "Excellent" from A.M. Best and is recognized as a Trusted Choice® company.
